The Ready for Rigor™ Culturally Responsive Teaching framework is unique in the area of educational equity. Rather than focus on a superficial “food, fabric, and festivals” approach to culturally responsive teaching, the framework guides educators to keep student learning and cognitive development at the center so students can become independent learners who can take on rigorous learning.

More than a checklist, the framework serves to guide educators in building the relationships, structures and routines over time that will create a thriving classroom community and cognitive challenge that will get students ready to take on more rigorous instruction.
